Marlon & Sherry Douthit

About Marlon & Sherry Douthit

Marlon Ernest Douthit was born in Fairbanks, AK to home missionaries, Wayne and Maudie Douthit, who were building the Northern Lights Free Will Baptist Mission. Marlon's parents moved him and his brothers back to Arkansas in 1975, so he was raised in a pastor's home, with three brothers and, eventually, a sister, in Arkansas around Southern, Country, and Bluegrass Gospel music. He started singing with his family in the church and around the piano at home as a child.

Sherry was born and raised around Morrilton, AR. With the love and support of her wonderful parents, Mary Lou and Charles Sharp, Sherry grew up in the Church and started playing piano around the age of five. She has always had a love for singing and playing southern-style melodies and beautiful harmony.

Sherry and Marlon were high school sweethearts when they were 15 and 16 years old! She won Marlon's heart without even trying as she played and sang at the church where they first met in Morrilton, AR. Life took them in different directions, but God's mercies brought them back together after 32 years. God truly works all things together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

We are so thankful for our upbringing in homes and churches where music was intertwined with our daily lives. Growing up, we attended a lot of singings, camp meetings, and revivals that included a lot of down-home country singing and beautiful four-part harmonies. That kind of music is so powerful and speaks to our soul! We spent a lot of time at those places in the hills and backwoods of Arkansas. That's where we experienced the music that shaped our lives. We love all those musical influences we were exposed to growing up, and love to share that music with other people. We hope we get a chance to share it with you.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We look forward to getting to know you. Please pray for us as we seek to follow God's direction in our life and ministry. Thank you, again, and God Bless!
